I fell ill last Monday... at first it was just insane pressure in my sinus cavities and a fever. I missed Tuesday for work due to being out of town, and then Thursday and Friday from being sick. I finally went back in yesterday, only after having to leave by noon due to being so sick I couldn't sit still. I "worked" from home for the remainder of the day.
I have a lot of work to do - but I honestly feel miserable. The infection seems to have spread to my bladder and kidneys. It hurts - incredibly bad - to wee. And when I go, the immense feeling of pressure is never really abated because I can only go about a tablespoon full at a time. I know that I should be making the effort to actually go in the office, but I feel so wretched that I don't think I can manage it. If I stay here, I feel like I can get a lot more accomplished.
Bah.

Yow, I don't envy you at all.
If you can find it, buy a couple of bottles of POMWonderful pure pomegranate juice and mix with water 50/50 or to your taste. I found it much better than cranberry juice for a) peeing - the burn is just so mch less, and b) just feeling a lot better.
Have you seen your doctor yet?
I'm seconding Orodemniades...have you seen a doctor?
UTIs are not to be toyed with. They suck, they make life suck, and they make baby environments suck. As you know, I had one for months, and nothing in the world - not even labor - hurts as much as a UTI. If you haven't seen a doctor please, please do-antibiotics are my own personal Jesus. And cranberry juice (not the cocktails) will be your new best friend, as will more water than you can handle.
Also, take a bath. Pee in it. Sounds unbelievably foul, I know, but the warm water will help your insides, and the relief will make you overlook the fact that you now need to scrub your tub.
Thanks for the kind words ladies. I'm drinking water, cranberry and POM by the bucketful it seems. The urine has gotten a lot lighter in color, and it doesn't make me cry to pee anymore. I'm going to have to change OBs because he's only in Wed-Sat. and there are no other doctors in the practice. I'm trying to get squeezed in today, but it's not looking good.
